This explains what WisconsinBOGO collects, why, and who sees it. The short version: we collect what we need to run the program, businesses never see your name or email, and we do not sell your information.
What we collect
- Members: your email address, your name, the time zone of your device, the date and time you confirmed you are 18 or older, and a record of each coupon you redeem (which business, which coupon, and when).
- Business owners and managers: your email address and name, and the business details, coupons, logo and photos you enter.
- Everyone: basic technical information our hosting provider records when any website is visited, such as IP address and browser type.
We do not collect your date of birth. We do not collect your location: if you tap "Near me", your phone works out which businesses are closest on the device itself, and your location is not sent to us or stored. We do not use advertising trackers.
Why we collect it
- Your email, to sign you in, to send messages about your account, and, if you leave that box ticked when you join, to tell you when membership opens. You can turn that off on your Account page.
- Your redemptions, to enforce each coupon's limit and to tell businesses how many coupons were used.
What businesses see
A business sees the date and time of each redemption there, the coupon, whether it was your first visit, and a member code such as M-3FA91C. The code is the same each time you visit that business and different at every other business. Businesses do not see your name or email address through WisconsinBOGO.
Who else handles your information
We use service providers to run the site: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting) and Resend (email). They process information on our behalf and only to provide their service. When paid membership opens, a payment processor will handle card details; we will not store card numbers. We do not sell your information, and we share it only with these providers or when the law requires it.
Fundraisers
A group that fundraises with us gives us the names of its sellers, as the organizer chooses to write them. A seller's name is shown to people who open that seller's link, and to the adults who run the group. We do not ask sellers for anything else, and sellers do not have accounts. If you join through a fundraiser link, we record which group and seller you chose, and your device remembers the link for 30 days. The group sees how many memberships each seller sold and renewed, and the amounts, never who bought them. Before your membership renews, we email you once to ask whether your renewal should support the same group again. If you join by scanning a WisconsinBOGO display in a store, we record which store, so that store can be paid for it. The store sees how many members joined there, never who they are.
Photos from businesses
Logos and photos that businesses upload are public. We remove the hidden details phones attach to photos, such as where a photo was taken, before they are stored.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, and the redemptions you made stay in each business's totals without any link to you.
Your choices
You can delete your account yourself from the Account page. You can also ask to see, correct or delete your information by writing to support@wisconsinbogo.com.
People under 18
WisconsinBOGO is for adults 18 and older, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 has made an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will change the date at the top. See also our Terms.
